With back-to-back 2nd place finishes at the 1A Girls State Basketball Tournament, it was Upton's turn to bring home the hardware. The Bobcats really had to earn as they got by defending 1A champion Southeast on Saturday in Casper to finish the season 23-2. Finishing 2nd is a great accomplishment but those runner-ups fueled Upton for the 2023 season. Upton shot 51% from the field in the championship game and went 8-14 from the floor in the 2nd half. The 4th quarter featured a combined 43 points and you don't see that very often.

This team got great senior guidance from the pair that was on the floor on Saturday and received major contributions from more than a few players. We talked with Sophia Louderback, Paige Timberman, and Brooklyn Materi after the contest and they realized that history was made. Be sure and check out a few photographs in our gallery below from Jamie Tippetts. Enjoy!
