The Wright boys basketball team would certainly like to build on a 2A State Tournament appearance last season and ended up taking 5th place. The Panthers entered the tourney as the #4 seed from the East and went 1-2 so that's the motivation for this season right there.

Wright has a height advantage that will give opposing teams something to think about as Jaxson Neely, Dolan Glasser, and Mitchell Strohschein all go 6-4 and Phoenix Bostock is 6-2. Over the weekend at the Coal Miner's Classic Tournament, the Panthers went 3-1 with their only loss coming in the final seconds to Wyoming Indian. Neely rang up 38 points in their win over Rocky Mountain, 25 against St. Stephens, and 25 vs. Wyoming Indian, and a year ago, he averaged 12 points a game. Jacob Vasquez has been a multi-year starter for this team and averaged 8 points a game. Scoring should not be an issue with this team and the 2A East will be very competitive this season.

We talked with Vasquez and Neely after their win over Greybull to start play in that tournament over the weekend, It was a good start and they hope that kind of play continues.
