The Wright Panthers certainly aren't strangers to winning volleyball as they have earned 4 state championships in the last 6 years. At this year's state tournament, Wright entered as the #2 seed from the 2A East and defeated Greybull in the opening round 3-1. In the semi-final round, Wright lost to Wind River 3-2 in one of the more entertaining matches of the entire tournament, regardless of class. The Panther gave it their all but ended up on the losing end of a 25-23, 21-25, 23-25 29-17 and 15-12 decision. The Panthers did come back with a compelling win over Pine Bluffs in the consolation round and then beat Glenrock 3-0 to take 3rd place. Wright finished the season with a record of 28-10 and had 2, all-state picks. Jozi Edwards made the all-state list for the 2nd year in a row and Payton Vrbas made it for the first time. Mikaela Easton was an all-conference selection but all three of those players were seniors, so there will be some re-tolling for next season.
