One of the more intriguing interclass games over the weekend was Burns from the 2a ranks hosting wright from 1A. burns have a terrific player in Boe Clayson who was an all-state selection a year ago with nearly 1000 yards rushing. He got off to a great start this season with 277 yards rushing on just 21 carries, and that included a 95-yard gallop for a touchdown. Boe ended up scoring twice for the broncs in this game and Kaden Laken also scored twice and he was an all-conference selection a year ago. The Burns offense was totally in gear as they had 471 yards total and 333 of that was on the ground. Keenan Manlove had 18 defensive points for Broncs,

On the Wright Panthers side of things, 2-time all-state player Dax Yerardi ran the ball 23 times for 100 yards and a touchdown. But the Panthers for the game had 135 yards rushing and only 3 yards passing. Plus there were some issues with turnovers. Yerardi, by the way, had a solid game on defense with 28 points.

Burns looked sharp to start the season with a 32-6 win over wright. The Broncs will be at Moorcroft this week, while wright will host Pine Bluffs.
