The Lovell boys basketball team spent the vast majority of the season ranked #1 in 3A via the WyoPreps poll and they played like the #1 team during the State Tournament. The Bulldogs had 2 one-sided wins in the first 2 rounds but had to play hard to hold off a pesky Cody team on Saturday in Casper, 44-40. Lovell last won a State Championship in 2013 when they competed in 2A and have back-to-back seasons of 20+ wins. This year, the Bulldogs went 25-2 and ended up beating Cody 3 out of 4 this season.

Lovell had a floor-full of scorers this season and were paced on Saturday night by Matthew Newman with 12 points on 5-11 from the field. Kaeson Anderson contributed 11 points with Jace Nicholls and Davin Crosby chipping in 8 each.

Cody made some serious progress this season after going 10-12 a year ago and their roster was filled with exceptional athletes. Grady McCarten led the way for the Broncs with 12 and Maddax Ball had 11. They wrapped up the season with a mark of 21-6.
