Wyoming High School cross country teams are into the final month of their season here in the Cowboy State.

Several meets are taking place in-state. Thursday saw a small meet in Riverton, while Friday features events in Cody, Evanston, and Wheatland. Some teams have opted to go out of state, while others are taking the weekend off for more training.

Thursday, Oct. 3:

Berry Bryant/Kyle Johnson Memorial Cross Country Meet in Riverton - Riverton, Lander, St. Stephens, Wyoming Indian

Lander dominated the small meet. The Tigers swept both the girls' and boys' team titles. The ladies had five of the top seven, while the men finished with five of the top six.

Sturgis H.S. Invitational Cross Country Meet in Sturgis, SD - Gillette, Kelly Walsh, Natrona, Newcastle, Thunder Basin

The Natrona Fillies came in second as a team and placed three runners in the top six.

The Kelly Walsh Trojans finished in second place as a team with NC in third. Both teams had a runner place in the top 10.

Mark Matthews Memorial Invite at Chimney Rock G.C. in Bayard, NE - Torrington

The Torrington girls tied for first place. Sera Glass came in 3rd individually. The Trailblazer boys won the meet. They were led by Ayden Loya, who came in 2nd place.

Bob Conley Invitational in Pocatello, ID - Jackson Hole

The Jackson girls placed 10th and were led by Sienna Taylor, who finished 8th. The Jackson boys came in 6th place. They were led by Ben Williams, who took 10th.

Friday, Oct. 4:

Cody Foxes and Hounds - Cody, Buffalo, Lovell, Powell, Thermopolis, Worland

Cody defended its home course well. The Broncs and Fillies won the team titles and swept the individual crowns.

Evanston Invitational - Evanston, Green River, Lyman, Mountain View

Heidi Barton and Dawson Crofts of Evanston won on their home course.

Wheatland Bulldog XC Invite - Wheatland, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Newcastle, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga

Cheyenne East won both team titles, but it was Sydney Thorvaldson or Rawlins and Grant Bartlett of Saratoga that won their individual races.

Pat Amato Classic in Northglenn, CO - Cheyenne Central

Cheyenne Central girls finished 18th place, while the boys were 25th. Trevor Stephen placed sixth individually in the boys' 5K race.

Saturday, Oct. 5:

Rentas Memorial Cross Country Meet in Wright, WY - Wright, Big Horn, Glenrock, Moorcroft, Rocky Mountain, Sundance, Tongue River

The Glenrock girls and Tongue River boys prevailed in Wright. Moorcroft senior Hailey Jones won the girls' race by nearly three minutes. Wyatt Ostler of Tongue River captured first-placed in the boys' division.
