Nordic skiing begins its 2019-2020 season with two days of competition on Casper Mountain this Friday and Saturday.

The two Casper schools, Kelly Walsh and Natrona County, will host Cody, Jackson, Lander, Laramie, and Pinedale.

Friday features a 5km Skate or Freestyle race that has a mass start at 1 p.m. for the varsity girls. Varsity boys will follow.

Saturday will be a 3x3km Classic relay which begins at 10 a.m. for the varsity boys. The varsity girls will follow.

Entering the new season, the Jackson boys and girls are the defending team state champions. Lander’s girls and Natrona’s boys finished second.

The Wyoming High School Nordic Skiing Championships will be outside of Cody on Feb. 28 and 29, 2020.
