It’s another busy week for skiers in Wyoming at the high school level. Both Nordic and Alpine competitors will be in action for the third straight weekend. Cross-country skiers head to the Big Horn Mountains to ski on the trails. For downhillers, it’s back to Casper Mountain for the second straight weekend. This is Week 9 of the Wyoming High School skiing season.

WYOPREPS WEEK 9 SKIING SCHEDULE 2026

Nordic skiing is at the Sheridan Invitational. The competition is 34 miles from the town, located on the Cutler Hill trails in the Big Horn Mountains northwest of Sheridan. Friday will be an 8km classic team relay. Eight teams will start every 30 seconds and race four laps on the course.  The varsity boys start at 1 p.m. on Friday, followed by the varsity girls at 1:45 p.m. On Saturday, a 7.1km skate or freestyle race with mass starts will be featured. Varsity girls will race first at 10 a.m., followed by the varsity boys at 10:50 a.m. Over 150 cross-country skiers will compete from the seven teams across all divisions.

Friday Race Results

In the girls' relays, Sheridan won Division 1, Cody won Division 2, and Laramie won Division 3 and 4. For the boys' relays, Kelly Walsh won the Division 1 and 2 races, Jackson won the Division 3 race, and Lander won the Division 4 race.

Saturday Race Results

Olivia Tolson from Pinedale edged out Kayley Alicke of Sheridan by .04 seconds. Tolson crossed the finish line at 22:24.9. Alicke was right behind at 22:25.3. Raina Wachob of Cody was third.

Darin Binning of Pinedale won the boys' race at 18:44.5. Everett Roberson from Kelly Walsh took second, and Austin Thomas from Kelly Walsh was third.

Alpine Skiing Is Back on Casper Mountain

Natrona County will host the 2026 Britt Farr Invitational Alpine Ski races at Hogadon Basin Ski Area on Casper Mountain. Friday is slalom racing, and Saturday is giant slalom (GS). The first runs start at 10 a.m. on the Boomerang ski run for both days of competition. You might ask why the skiers are back in Casper again. This weekend is the original date for NC’s races. Last weekend’s action was rescheduled from earlier in the season. Six schools are competing this weekend, with over 100 skiers racing at various levels. Last week, skiers from NC, Jackson, and Pinedale finished first in the individual races. The Cody girls and Jackson boys took first in the team standings.

Girls Team Scores = Cody 108, Natrona County 103, Pinedale 63, Kelly Walsh 41, Laramie 16, Jackson 11.

Boys Team Scores = Jackson 142, Pinedale 72, Natrona County 46, Cody 39, Laramie 25, Kelly Walsh 18.

Friday Race Results

MK Lacko from NC won the girls' race at 1:47.34. Mia Broussard of Cody took second, and Ellie Tolson from Pinedale finished in third. In the boys' division, Sage Kandolin of Jackson finished first in the racing at 1:30.82. Tristan Robertson from Pinedale placed second, and Brett Lane of Jackson was third.

Saturday Race Results

Evie Crawford from NC won the girls' race at 1:11.50. Teammate MK Lacko was second, and Mia Broussard of Cody placed third. In the boys' race, Brett Lane of Jackson was the winner at 1:07.11. Sage Kandolin of Jackson captured second, and Dune Mc of Pinedale finished third.
