Nordic Skiing

Cross-country skiers will be participating at the Lander Valley High School Invitational at the Beaver Creek Trails southwest of Lander.

This race was originally scheduled for last month but was switched with a race in Casper due to the snow trail conditions outside of Lander. Those have improved, so here we go with racing.

Friday will be a 5km freestyle or skate race. The varsity boys will start at noon, and the varsity girls’ race will follow. Skiers will take to the course in 15-second intervals.

Saturday’s race is a 10km classic. It also features 15-second interval starts. The varsity girls begin at 10 a.m., and the varsity boys will follow.

Lander is hosting teams from Cody/Sheridan, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, and Pinedale.

Friday 5km Freestyle Race Results:

Jackson's Kate Brigham (16:03.01) and Mason Wheeler (13:32.7) won the races.

Saturday 10km Classic Race Results:

Jackson's Brigham (35:15.8) and Wheeler (30:45.8) swept the races again.
