The final round of qualifying for the indoor track state championships start with two meets this weekend.

Both meets are scheduled for Saturday with one in Casper and the other in Gillette.

These are the first two in the third chance for athletes to try to qualify for the state championships on Feb. 27 for the boys and March 6 for the girls.

The Natrona County High School MAC and the Campbell County Recreation Center will be the host sites on Saturday. With participation limited to 300 athletes, only select teams can attend the two meets. No fans are allowed at any of the regular-season meets.

Saturday, Feb. 13:

WHSAA Indoor Track & Field Qualifying Meet Round Three Meet #1 Casper: Field Events at 9:30 a.m.; Track Events at 10 a.m. – Cheyenne South, Douglas, Goshen County (Torrington), Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Mountain View, Rawlins

Girls Team Scores: Laramie 191, Kelly Walsh 164, Mountain View 83, Rawlins 51, Douglas 30

Ani Brown of Kelly Walsh (200 meters & 400 meters), Sydney Thorvaldson from Rawlins (800 meters & 1600 meters), and Taylor Gardner of Laramie (long jump & triple jump) won two events apiece.

Kelly Walsh won seven events, including a sweep of the three relays. Laramie won five events.

Boys Team Scores: Laramie 189, Kelly Walsh 152, Mountain View 65, Rawlins 42, Douglas 40, Western Heritage Lutheran 8

Darius Wiggins (55-meters & 400 meters) and Kyson Miller (800 meters & 1600 meters) of Kelly Walsh and Laramie's Travis Judd (long jump & triple jump) won two events each.

Kelly Walsh won nine events and swept the sprint events. Laramie won five events, four of them were field events.

Kenna Holiday of Worland won three events (55-meters, 200 meters, 400 meters).

Oscar Martinez  (200 meters & 400 meters) and Jason Barron (1600 meters & 3200 meters) won two events apiece.
