There are just two small changes in the new WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Boys Basketball Poll released on Wednesday.

The same teams that were ranked last week are ranked again this week. In Class 4A and 3A, a couple of teams flip spots, while Class 2A and 1A are the same.

Cheyenne Central earned 22 of the 24 first-place votes which leaves the Indians in the top spot for the seventh straight poll. Cheyenne East and Sheridan each received one first-place vote. Despite losing to Central last weekend, the Thunderbirds stay at No. 2 by a solid margin. The Broncs won their only game last week and hold in third. The lone difference in this weeks’ 4A poll has Thunder Basin moving up one spot to No. 4, while Kelly Walsh slides to fifth. Four other teams picked up votes in this week’s balloting. The Broncs will get their chance to knock off the top two teams. Sheridan travels to Cheyenne to face No. 1 and No. 2 on Friday and Saturday. The fourth-ranked Bolts have a road trip to Cheyenne and Laramie to play South and Laramie this weekend.

For the first time this season, the Worland Warriors are a unanimous choice for No. 1 in Class 3A. The Warriors received all 13 first-place votes. Worland defeated the second-ranked Tigers in Lander last Friday night. After that loss, Lander still holds down the No. 2 spot. The lone difference has Wheatland in third, which pushed Mountain View down to fourth. Rawlins stays at No. 5. There is one ranked game this week in Class 3A. On Saturday, No. 2 Lander hosts No. 4 Mountain View.

The bottom two classifications feature zero changes.

Class 2A is topped again by Rocky Mountain. The Grizzlies earned all but one first-place vote. This is the seventh straight poll Rocky Mountain has been atop the 2A ranks. Wyoming Indian remains second and received the only other No. 1 vote. Pine Bluffs, Southeast, and Big Horn round out the top five. The Cyclones and Rams both play interclass games with 3A opponents on Friday night. The Rams also play another 3A foe on Saturday. Given all that, all eyes will be on Ethete on Saturday, when the second-ranked Chiefs host the top-ranked Grizzlies.

The Encampment Tigers have been No. 1 all season in Class 1A and that remains the same. They garnered 11 of the 12 first-place votes. The other tally went to No. 2 Upton. The Bobcats have been in that spot all season, as well. St. Stephens, Saratoga, and Kaycee all stay in their spots at three, four, and five. The big game this weekend is the Platte River Valley rivalry with No. 4 Saratoga at top-ranked Encampment on Saturday afternoon. No. 5 Kaycee goes to second-ranked Upton on Friday night for a Northeast Conference showdown. A few 1A teams will play against 2A teams this weekend. That includes No. 2 Upton at 2A No. 3 Pine Bluffs on Saturday.
