Bridger Valley rivals collide in our WyoPreps Small School Game of the Week on Friday.

It’s No. 3 Lyman at fourth-ranked Mountain View.

The Eagles are coming off an overtime loss at home last Friday to top-ranked Lovell, 12-6. They are 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference games.

Mountain View enters off a 34-14 victory at Thermopolis last week. The Buffalos are 3-0 and 1-0 in league play.

This is one of those games where you can throw out the records and what type of season both teams are having because it’s a rivalry.

WyoPreps spoke with Lyman head coach Dale Anderson and Mountain View head coach Brent Walk this week. The two coaches discussed how their season is going, dealing with different circumstances that have popped up through the first few weeks, maintaining focus during a rivalry game, what each other’s teams look like, and the keys for their team to be successful.

This will be the 83rd time these two rivals meet on a football field. The series began in 1955, and according to records kept by wyoming-football.com, Mountain View leads the series 49-33. Lyman has won the last two years.

The kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. in Mountain View.
