This week’s WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll has a new No. 1 ranked team and two new teams to the poll.

Thunder Basin, Douglas, and Cokeville hold their position atop their respective classes. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies have ascended to No. 1 in Class 2A.

The Grizzlies overtake the Moorcroft Wolves for the top position with six of the nine first-place votes. The next three teams hold their spot. It’s Tongue River, Big Piney, and Pine Bluffs to round out the top five.

In Class 4A, the top three are the same. Thunder Basin received 19 of the 20 first-place ballots. Natrona County and Cheyenne East are second and third but only separated by six points in the voting. The Cody Fillies make their debut in the rankings for the first time this season. They enter at No. 4 after their seventh straight victory. Cheyenne Central drops to fifth, which pushes Green River out of the rankings.

There is no change in the top four in Class 3A. The Douglas Bearcats are a unanimous pick for No. 1. They are followed by Mountain View, Lander, and Lyman. Worland re-enters the top five at No. 5, as Torrington dropped out.

Class 1A did not change from last week. Cokeville received six of the nine first-place votes. Kaycee garnered the other three to hold second. Upton, H.E.M., and Southeast round out the top five.
