There’s not a lot of change in the latest WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll, especially the final rankings for Classes 1A and 2A.

The new poll released on Wednesday has the same teams in the top five in each of the four classes. The only changes came in Class 3A with shuffling among the top five.

The final rankings in 2A have Moorcroft alone at the top after being tied last week. The Wolves received one less first-place vote than Rocky Mountain, but more second-place votes have Moorcroft ending the season at No. 1. The Wolves have been ranked first or shared that spot in nine of the 11 rankings this season. The Grizzlies are a close second, just three points behind in the balloting. Wyoming Indian remain third ahead of Shoshoni and Sundance, who are fourth and fifth respectively, entering the postseason.

There’s no change in the top five of Class 1A before they start regional tournament play. Cokeville remains first with eight of the nine first-place votes. The Panthers are atop 1A for the eighth time in 11 polls this season. Upton is a solid second. Kaycee, H.E.M., and Southeast follow in third, fourth, and fifth.

As referenced before, Class 3A has the most change. Douglas is a unanimous pick for No. 1. The Bearcats received all 18 first-place votes. Mountain View moves back up two positions into second. Worland also jumps two spots to third in the poll this week. Lander fell to fourth, while Lyman dropped three spots to No. 5.

4A’s top five is the same as a week ago. Thunder Basin is a unanimous choice for the top spot. The Bolts earned all 23 first-place votes. Cheyenne East holds second by one second-place vote over Natrona County. The Fillies stay put at No. 3. Cody and Green River hold in fourth and fifth.

Classes 3A and 4A will have their final rankings next week before those two classes enter postseason play.
