A highly anticipated showdown in 1A, plus a favorite in 2A takes on the surging Rams in the 1A and 2A boys basketball title games at the state tournament in Casper on Saturday.

Dubois goes for the third championship and first in 28 years. Upton is back to defend their title from last year.

Pine Bluffs goes for their fifth, first since 2018. Big Horn seeking their third and their last one was 11 years ago. This 2A championship will be a rematch from the 2A East Regional Semifinal, where Big Horn won 54-46.

The 1A game is 5 p.m. and the 2A final is at 8 p.m.

Here are recaps of all the action from the semifinal games.

1A BOYS BASKETBALL SEMIFINAL GAMES

Dubois 52 Farson-Eden 43

A strong defensive second-quarter carried Dubois past the Farson-Eden in the first semifinal.

The Pronghorns and Rams had a tight first eight minutes. Farson held a 12-11 lead.

The Dubois held the Pronghorns to just five points in the second quarter, and Farson never recovered from that. The Rams led 23-17 at halftime. Dubois stretched it out to 49-35 in the fourth.

The Rams got a game-high 20 points from Cody Wright, who also had seven rebounds. Max Claar had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Ryan Wells added 12 points and five steals. Dubois shot 48 percent from the field.

Farson-Eden was led by Trevor Jones with 18 points. Aden Neese contributed 11 points off the bench. Neese also had seven rebounds, five of those on the offensive end.  The Pronghorns shot 38 percent in the game.

Upton 49 Saratoga 36

The Bobcats led the whole game and held Saratoga to only four points in the third quarter.

Luca Brooks led the way for all scorers with 26 points. He also led the Bobcats in rebounding with seven, as well as three steals. Chase Mills was the only other Ram in double figures with 11. The Bobcats 50 percent from the field and 35 percent for the game.

Grady Bartlett and Grant Bartlett scored a majority of the Panthers' points with 15 and 11, respectively. Grant Bartlett and Heston Fisher both had seven rebounds. Saratoga finished at 31percent from the field.

2A BOYS BASKETBALL SEMIFINAL GAMES

Big Horn 54 Wind River 50

This game was very back-and-forth, but Big Horn's 18 points in the third put them up for good.

Caleb Gibson made the game-sealing free-throw to put the Rams up by four with six seconds left.

Cade Butler led with 18 points and Toby Schons had 13. Schons led the team in rebounding with nine. As a team, the Rams outrebounded the Cougars 33 to 26 and also had twelve total assists. Big Horn shot 53 from the field and 31 from deep.

Wind River had two in double figures as well. Chaumbrey Romero with 12 points and Wylie Shearer with 13. Jaycee Herbert led the team with six rebounds.

The Cougars 36 percent in total field goals but only 16 percent from the arc.

Pine Bluffs 62 Tongue River 51

Despite the close game, and a late 11-2 run by the Eagles late in the fourth, the Hornets pulled away to clinch the win.

In the last two minutes, Pine Bluffs went seven for ten at the free-throw line. Tongue River had a few shots from three in its comeback attempt but failed to convert enough.

Pine Bluffs had four scorers in double figures: Ryan Fornstrom with 18, Reed Thompson with 16, Dalton Schaefer with 12, and Stu Lerwick with 11. Lerwick led the Hornets in rebounding with nine. As a team, the Hornets had 23 points off turnovers. The Hornets shot 46 percent in total field goals and 31 from the arc.

Tongue River had nine players score in the game. The Eagles were led by Eli Cummins with 10. Cummins also led the team in rebounding with eight. He also had four steals. The Eagles shot 55 percent for the game.
