A girls’ wrestler, our first boys’ skier, and a boys’ wrestler are the WyoPreps Athlete of the Week winners, presented by Premier Bone and Joint Centers. Thanks to their performances last week, Feb. 3-Feb. 8, 2025, Lovell senior Danika Crumrine, Kelly Walsh senior Fisk Johansson, and classmate Dylan Sorensen received the weekly accolade. Crumrine and Sorensen were dominant on the wrestling mat, and Johansson was dominant on the skiing trails last week.

WYOPREPS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK WINNERS 2-13-25

Girls Winners

Crumrine went undefeated and won the 140-pound title at the Greybull Memorial Wrestling Tournament last weekend. She did not allow a single point against her, pinned all three of her opponents in the first period, and was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. In the process, Crumrine won the 100th match of her prep career. With the title, Danika improved to 33-5 this season. Her effort helped Lovell take second in the team standings.

WyoPreps visited with Crumrine about her performance in Greybull. She was happy with how it turned out, described how she accomplished some goals she had in mind entering that weekend, discussed what she loves about wrestling, and more.

Boys Winners

Johansson won both cross-country skiing races at last weekend’s Jacobson Memorial on Casper Mountain. He won the Friday freestyle race at 21:34.7 with a margin of victory of 17 seconds. Johansson followed that with another win in the Saturday classic race at 21:05.2. He won the race by nearly 40 seconds.

WyoPreps caught up with Johansson to discuss his big weekend. He said he wasn’t even feeling 100 percent before the races but still managed to pull out the two victories. Johansson explained his mindset before and during races, how he’s been on skis for a while, how his coach has aided his development, and more.

Sorensen led the Kelly Walsh wrestling team to the Gold Bracket championship at the Rumble in Rawlins Wrestling Tournament last weekend. He went 3-0 at 120 pounds. Sorensen pinned his first opponent, recorded an 18-0 win by tech fall, and in the Gold Bracket title match, pinned one of the top wrestlers in the state in only 53 seconds. Dylan improved to 29-5 this year.

The senior spoke to WyoPreps about how he wrestled in Rawlins, facing some different competitions, what he has been working on, areas he still wants to improve before the postseason, and more.

Congratulations to Danika, Fisk, and Dylan for being chosen as the Premier Bone and Joint Centers WyoPreps Athletes of the Week!
