The Cody Fillies went 4-0 last weekend and won the West Conference of Wyoming High School Softball for the third straight year. Wollschlager had 8 RBIs, scored 8 runs, had one stolen base, and got hit by a pitch twice. The senior hit for the cycle against Rock Springs in a 12-2 victory in game two. With first place on the line in the conference game versus the Tigers last Friday, Simone tossed a 3-hit shutout in the circle. She had 9 strikeouts and walked only 3 batters. In four games at the plate, Simone went 8-for-15 with 3 doubles and a triple. She drove in 6 runs and scored 4 runs. Simone also picked a second win in the circle against Green River.

WyoPreps spoke with the seniors on Wednesday. Wollschlager and Simone discussed their roles in the weekend sweep. Wollschlager was excited about her great weekend at the plate. She described her mentality when she’s at-bat, how she wanted to hit a home run versus Rock Springs, her reaction to hitting for the cycle, and more. Simone described her mindset in the pitching victory over the Tigers, what worked well for her that day, how she faired at the plate, and more.

Opler and Hoelscher combined for 11 goals and three assists in the two wins. Jackson defeated their two foes by a combined 19-0 score. The Broncs improved to 13-1 on the season and 11-1 in conference matches.
