Cheyenne South’s Andrew Lock is the 2023-24 WyoPreps Athlete of the Year for Boys Tennis [VIDEO]
The WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Award is a presentation of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming in cooperation with Wyldgear. Our first boys’ tennis honor goes to Cheyenne South senior Andrew Lock. Numerous coaches around the state called it a “no-brainer” for Lock to receive this award.
Lock won his second consecutive No. 1 boys’ singles title last fall with another undefeated season. Lock won the crown with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the finals. He didn’t lose a match during his final two years and dropped only one in the last three seasons. Lock did not lose a set or face a tiebreaker in the 2023 season.
In a recent video interview, WyoPreps’ David Settle presented the award to Lock. He reacted to receiving this honor, discussed his senior season, dealing with being the favorite all season, described how he played and what he focused on to win another title, preparing for college tennis, and more.
Join us in congratulating Andrew Lock, the first WyoPreps Athlete of the Year for Boys’ Tennis.
