The Wyoming high school cross country season wrapped up on Saturday in Cheyenne with the State Meet at Little America. On the boy's side, each one of the winners made the next logical step forward from a year ago. In 2A, Jadeth Elder of Thermopolis took 3rd at the 2023 State Meet, this year he made it to the top of the podium.

Worland's Trajn Swalstad was 2nd at the 3A Cross Country Meet last season and he convincingly won it all this year. His Warrior team also placed first over the weekend. Jase Burton of Star Valley was the 4A runner-up a year ago and reached the top of the distance running mountain on Saturday, helping his team take home the state championship.

We talked to all three of those guys and all the hours of road work paid off.
