Over the last 4 years, Cody has rang up a pair of State Championships in 3A football and has finished 2nd twice. The Broncs opened up the 2024 season at home on Friday and zoomed past Riverton 47-24.  Cody had over 500 yards of offense in the game so that shows you what kind of talent they have.

Boston Cronebaugh opened up the scoring for Cody with a 100-yard return for a touchdown on the opening kick-off which was followed by a defensive TD for the Broncs as Jarom Beardall had a 45-yard pick-six.

In the 2nd quarter, Riverton kicked a 28-yard field goal and Cody answered with a 1-yard run for a score from Owen Petersen and a 25-yard touchdown connection from Maddax Ball to Chase Hatch

Cody found the end zone a couple of more times in the 3rd quarter as Ball had an 8-yard run for the TD and Grady McCarten turned in a pick-six that covered 36 yards. Riverton got a 3-yard run for a touchdown from Blake Gantenbein in quarter #3 and added a 1-yard score in quarter #4. Hunter Saltsgaver had an 18-yard TD run for the Wolverines and Cody's last touchdown was recorded by Cache McFadden with a 10-yard scamper into the end zone.

Cody will have an interesting road game at Douglas this week and Riverton is 1-1 after a 7-0 win over Powell in week-zero. The Wolverines will be at home on Friday to take on Evanston.

We have some stellar photos of that Cody-Riverton game in our gallery below. A big thanks to Dave Treick for those images. Enjoy!
