All four No. 1 ranked teams went wire-to-wire at the top of the WyoPreps Coaches and Media Boys and Girls Basketball Polls.

The Cody girls and Cheyenne East boys, plus the Douglas boys and girls, all held the No. 1 spot all season long.

The last rankings featured one new team that re-entered the poll, and that was in 3A girls. Three of the four divisions had at least one change. The only one that didn’t was 4A girls.

In the 3A girls’ poll, Pinedale jumped back into the rankings after a five-week absence. The Wranglers won the 3A Southwest Quadrant and are fifth. Douglas was a unanimous choice for the top spot. Buffalo remained second, while Newcastle moved up to third. That pushed Mountain View down to fourth.

As they start the postseason, the 4A girls are the same as a week ago. Cody received all but one vote for No. 1. The Fillies are the only undefeated girls’ team in the state. Two-time defending champion Cheyenne East remained second. Thunder Basin, Campbell County, and Sheridan completed the top five.

In both boys’ polls, the difference was two teams traded spots.

Cheyenne East earned all 20 first-place votes in the voting. Despite the next four teams all losing a game last week, no new teams entered the top five. After two losses in their last three games, Riverton stayed at No. 2. Even after they lost to their cross-town rival last Thursday, Thunder Basin held the third spot. The change occurred at the bottom of the poll. Cheyenne Central rose to fourth, while Sheridan fell to fifth. Both teams lost their final game of the regular season last week.

The Douglas Bearcats maintained the top position in the 3A ranks. Right behind them was the Worland Warriors, who stayed No. 2 for all but one week of the season. The difference in the final poll was Lyman climbed to third after they clinched the 3A Southwest Quadrant last weekend. That pushed Powell down to fourth, while Lander held steady at No. 5.
