Green River Vs. Powell Football [VIDEO]

Powell was trying to keep in a very competitive 3A west race in football with a home game against Green River on Friday night. Powell put points on the board first thanks to Landon Lengfelder and a 7 yard run to the end zone for a touchdown so the Panthers led 7-0

Green River responded with a TD of their own in the 2nd quarter as Gabe Burdette got in from the 1-yard line to even things at 7. Powell took advantage of a Green River turnover and turned that into a touchdown as Jesse Trotter recovered that loose ball for a score to make it 13-7. Lengfelder added a 2-yard plunge to the end zone so the panther led the wolves 20-7 at the halftime intermission

Green River got right back into the game in the 3rd quarter as Burdette scored his 2nd touchdown of the game, this time from 4 yards out and we have a game at 20-14. But in the 4th quarter, Powell put together a scoring drive as Lengfelder got into the end zone from 14 yards out. Powell took a big step towards the playoffs with a 26-14 win over Green River so they're 5-3. The Wolves fall to 2-5. Powell will be in Jackson this week. Green River will host Cody
