Lander Vs. Torrington Football [VIDEO]

In 3A Football, Lander paid a visit to Torrington and Lander came into this game with a record of 2-1 while Torrington was 1-2.  The Blazers of Torrington started the scoring thanks to a 25 yard run for a touchdown by Trace Floyd to that made it 6-0 but Lander answered with an enourmas 2^nd quarter.

Jack Sweeney had a couple of touchdown runs for the Tigers, one from 4 yards out and the other from 6. Following that, Lander found the end zone again as quarterback Tyler Massey throwing to John Fawson on a play that covered 29 yards so the Tigers assumed a 21-6 lead at the halftime intermission.

Sweeney was having a whale of a game as he came up with a 35-yard pick 6 in the 3^rd quarter to bump the Lander lead to 28-6.  In the 4^th quarter, the teams traded touchdowns as Massey hooked up with Fawson for the 2^nd time. This one covered 25 yards. Torrington concluded the scoring with a TD pass from Sam Firminhac to Jackson Jones of 18 yards. But Lander has won 3 of 4 with a 35-13 win over Torrington. The Tigers will host their rival Riverton on Friday night. The Blazers drop to 1-3 and will be in Douglas this week.
