Not Much Movement in the New WyoPreps Girls Basketball Rankings
The new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll has very little change.
There are no new teams in this week’s rankings, but there is movement in three of the four classifications.
In 1A, three teams changed spots. Upton remained on top with 11 of the 13 first-place votes. The Bobcats are followed by Southeast. The Cyclones moved up one spot, as did Cokeville. The Panthers are now third. Burlington fell two spots down to fourth. Little Snake River held onto the No. 5 position.
Classes 2A and 3A are similar in that they had two teams flip spots in the rankings.
In 2A, the top three are unchanged. It’s Rocky Mountain at No. 1 for the second straight week. The Grizzlies received 12 of the 13 first-place votes. Moorcroft and Wyoming Indian remained second and third. Sundance moved up to fourth. The Bulldogs have won six in a row. Glenrock fell to fifth.
In 3A, Newcastle and Douglas are unanimous choices for first and second, respectively. The Dogies got all 20 first-place votes. The Bearcats earned all 20 second-place votes. The Lander Tigers moved up to third. They beat their third consecutive ranked opponent last week, and the Tigers have won 13 straight games. Pinedale fell to fourth, while Lyman remained fifth.
Class 4A was the only division that didn’t change. Cheyenne East is a unanimous No. 1 with all 19 first-place votes. Cody is second, while Thunder Basin, Laramie, Rock Springs round out the top five.
