PhotoFest! State Wrestling-1st Round

The first round of the 2024 State Wrestling Tournament is in the books at the Ford Center in Casper and it was busy. The opening session of the tourney on Thursday afternoon was close to 4 hours with another session in the evening.

It's very early in the championship but in the 2A team standings, Kemmerer had the lead with Moorcroft 2nd, LFL/Southeast 3rd, Big Piney 4th, and Thermopolis 5th. Green River was the early leader in 3A with Pinedale 2nd, Cody 3rd, Evanston 4th, and Powell 5th. Thunder Basin jumped to the early lead in the 4A team standings with Star Valley 2nd, Sheridan 3rd, Rock Springs 4th, and Cheyenne East 5th.

On the girl's side of the tournament, Star Valley has the lead in the team standings with Thunder Basin 2nd, Cheyenne East 3rd, Cheyenne Central 4th, and Pinedale 5th. Those team's standings will be very fluid as the quarterfinal and semi-final rounds progresses on Friday.
