Thunder Basin is off to a good start in the 4A football ranks following a convincing 49-14 win over Rock Springs in Gillette on Friday night. The Bolts had a tremendous first quarter as they put 28 points on the board and took advantage of some Rock Springs miscues. In that first quarter alone, Thunder Basin quarterback Alonso Aguilar threw a pair of touchdown passes from Landon Scalise, covering 43 and 44 yards respectively. The Bolts also got a pair of rushing TDs from Aguilar from a yard out and 19 yards away.

Aguilar threw his 3rd touchdown pass of the game to Jais Rose in the 2nd quarter and that play went for 33 yards. Rock Springs finally got on the board on a 5-yard run for a score from Michael Faigl but the Tigers were down 35-7 at halftime.

in the 3rd quarter, Faigl recorded his 2nd rushing touchdown and Thunder Basin answered with a 13-yard run for a score. Aguilar came through with another touchdown on the ground in that 3rd quarter of play and that was that.

Thunder Basin at 2-0 has a big, big game this week on the road at Cheyenne East. Rock Springs is 1-1 on the year and will host Campbell County on Friday.
