Rock Springs Vs. Cheyenne Central Playoff Football [VIDEO]
One of the quarterfinal round playoff games in 4A featured Cheyenne Central hosting Rock Springs. Central beat Rock Springs during the regular season 36-29 and this postseason game was close as well.
Central got on the board first as running back Carter Lobatos started his big day with a 46-yard gallop to the end zone for a touchdown to give the Indians a 7-0 lead.
Rock Springs put together a solid 2nd quarter starting with a 3 yard run for a score from Landon Toth to tie the game at 7. The Tiger defense made a huge play, registering a safety to make it 9-7 and then quarterback Seth Hymas and Favor Okere hooked up for a touchdown completion that went for 98 yards. So at the halftime break, Rock Springs held a 16-7 lead
After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Carter Lobatos went to work on with a 4 yard TD run to cut the lead to 16-14. In the last 3 minutes of the game, Lobatos scored again on a 48-yard run to put the Indians in front 20-16. Lobatos, by the way, finished with 213 yards rushing.
Central sealed the win with a pick late in the 4th quarter as the Indians hold on to beat Rock Springs 20-16. Central is 7-3 on the year and will travel to Sheridan for the 4A semi-finals. The Tigers wrap up the season 4-6.
