Buffalo Climbs to No. 1 in New WyoPreps Soccer Polls

A new No. 1 in Class 3A boys highlights the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls revealed on Wednesday. That division saw the most change among the four in the rankings. Buffalo took over the top spot with eight of the 14 first-place votes. Rawlins joined the top five in 3A boys, and Thunder Basin re-entered the 4A girls’ poll during the fourth week of the 2026 season.

The defending 3A champion Bison impressed enough voters after last week’s shutout on the road at Powell that Buffalo moved up to the top line. Cody fell to second but still got four first-place votes. Lander remained at No. 3. The Outlaws jumped into the rankings in fourth, and Torrington held steady in the fifth position.

Class 4A girls switched out their fifth-ranked team again. The top four held their spots. Kelly Walsh was still first, followed by Riverton, Jackson, and Laramie. Thunder Basin moved back into the last spot in the top five.

In 4A boys, Jackson held the No. 1 ranking with 11 of the 16 first-place votes. Sheridan moved into a tie for second with Kelly Walsh. Thunder Basin and Green River stayed fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Class 3A girls’ top five did not change. Cody was at the top, but Powell moved closer in the voting. The Fillies received 13 of the 16 first-place votes, while the Panthers got three. Lander, Buffalo, and Douglas rounded out the top five.
