4A Girls See Most Movement in Latest WyoPreps Soccer Rankings

A few more changes in the 4A girls’ top five compared to last week were the biggest difference in the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls published on Wednesday. That was the only division among the four with a new team in its top five, as well. Kelly Walsh remained at the top, while the order of the next four shifted. The 3A boys’ poll had a small adjustment, but the other two stayed the same.

In 4A girls, the Trojans held the top spot for the second consecutive week. They received nine of the 18 first-place votes. Four other teams got at least one ballot for the top spot. Riverton moved from a tie for third into second. The Wolverines garnered three first-place votes. That pushed Jackson and Laramie down in the 4A poll. The Broncs earned four votes for the top position but fell to third by six points in the final point totals. Laramie was fourth, after they were tied with Riverton last week. Sheridan’s 1-0-1 start on the road in 4A East Conference action, which included a draw against Laramie, pushed the Broncs into fifth.

There was no tie in 3A boys this week, and the other difference was at the bottom of the top five. Cody held No. 1, as the Broncs picked up 10 of the 13 first-place votes. Buffalo and Lander remained in second and third, respectively. Mountain View climbed up to fourth, and Torrington dropped to fifth.

The 3A girls and 4A boys’ top fives were the same as last week. Cody topped the 3A girls’ poll with 12 of the 14 first-place votes. Powell was second, followed by Lander, Buffalo, and Douglas. In 4A boys, Jackson kept the top spot and received all but two first-place votes. Kelly Walsh remained second. Sheridan held third. Thunder Basin held steady at No. 4, and Green River rounded out the top five.
