Cody Broncs Reclaim the Top Spot in 3A Boys Soccer Rankings

The new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls featured a new No. 1 in 3A boys, a reshuffled 4A girls’ top five, and two teams that rejoined the rankings. The new poll came out on Wednesday afternoon from WyoPreps.com. The Cody Broncs jumped back to the top of the 3A boys’ rankings for the first time in a month. The Broncs beat a ranked Mountain View squad and Lyman last weekend, and Cody just topped Powell 7-0 on Tuesday night.

Cody led 3A with 13 of the 17 first-place votes in the boys’ poll. Buffalo fell to second and earned the other four ballots for first. Lander held at No. 3, while Mountain View moved up to fourth. Torrington re-entered the top five in fifth after their upset of Buffalo last Saturday.

In 4A girls, Jackson and Kelly Walsh kept their positions of first and second. Laramie climbed back to third. That pushed Riverton down to fourth. Green River remained in the top five but slid down into a tie for fifth with Thunder Basin. The Bolts rejoined the rankings after missing out last week.

No changes highlighted the other two divisions.

3A girls were led by Cody. The Fillies received 15 of the 17 first-place votes. Powell got the other two and held in second. Cody beat Powell on Tuesday night by a final score of 3-2, in the first meeting of the year. Lander, Buffalo, and Mountain View completed the top five in their same spots.

Jackson was at the top of 4A boys for the sixth straight poll this year. The Broncs garnered 12 of the 14 first-place votes. Kelly Walsh and Sheridan earned one top ballot each. The Trojans were second, and the Broncs checked in at No. 3. Thunder Basin and Green River rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.
