For the last generation or so, the Lander boys swimming team has owned the 3A ranks and won their 26th consecutive state championship on Friday in Gillette. The Tigers had 388 points and easily outdistanced Buffalo and Worland for 2nd and 3rd. Lander has a tremendous athlete in Jonny Kulow who broke the 3A 100 freestyle state record in the prelims on Thursday and the finals on Friday. He also set the 3A record in the 50 free on Thursday finished first in the event in the finals the following day. In addition to that, Kulow was on the winning 200 medley relay team and the other 400 free relay.

Lander also posted a win in the 200 free thanks to Dylan Huelskamp and he won the event last year, the 200 IM thanks to Benny Kulow, Brennan Blackburn was victorious in the 100 butterfly for the 2nd straight year and the same for Brayden Brown won the 500 free and Nolan McFadden touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke to repeat as state champion. So Lander had another impressive performance all the way around.

Nate Johnston of Powell won the 100 breaststroke for the 2nd straight year, Buffalo won the 200 free relay, and Green River's Braxton Cordova repeated as the 3A state champion in diving.

We have a video to share with you from the finals on Friday from the Campbell County Aquatic Center plus a slew of photos from the 3A meet, Enjoy!
