The second week of the outdoor track season is here in Wyoming. These are the meets on the schedule.

The weather will determine which teams get a chance to compete. It's a mix of in-state and out-of-state meets. The schedule is subject to change.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24

Green River Invite; Field Events at 11 a.m. & Track Events at 12:30 p.m. – Big Piney, Encampment, Evanston, Farson-Eden, Green River, H.E.M., Jackson, Kemmerer, Little Snake River, Lyman, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Saratoga

Three girls won two events apiece. Grace Nightingale of Rock Springs swept the sprints (100 & 200 meters). Elena Jensen from Lyman won the 800 & 1600 meters. Mia Barker of Evanston won the 300-meter hurdles and pole vault.

Braxton Bradshaw of Lyman was the star on the boys' side. He won three events with a sweep of the high jump, pole vault, and long jump. Lyman's Joseph Turner captured first place in the shot put and discus. Andrew Skorcz of Rock Springs swept the sprints (100 & 200 meters). Mario Guerrero of Rawlins was first in the 110-meter hurdles and the triple jump.

FRIDAY, MARCH 26

Cheyenne Central Track Invite at Riske Field in Cheyenne – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Laramie - Canceled

Natrona Invite in Casper – Campbell County, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Natrona County - Canceled

Laura Chord Memorial Track Invite in Newcastle; Field Events at 9 a.m. & Track Events at 9:15 a.m. – Arvada-Clearmont, Glenrock, Hulett, Kaycee, Lusk, Midwest, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Sundance, Thunder Basin, Upton, Wheatland, Wright

Girls Results: Ahnya Ivie-Moody from Hulett swept the 800, 1600, & 3200 meters.

Boys Results: Jaxon Pikula of Thunder Basin won the 100 & 200 meters. Jesse Lujan from Thunder Basin won both hurdle races.

Carleigh Reish from Tongue River won 4 events, the 100 & 200 meters, plus the high jump & long jump; Jane Pendergast of Tongue River swept both hurdle events; Kiana Swann from Shoshoni won the 1600 & 3200 meters;

Yellowstone Sports Medicine Invite in Cody at 10 a.m. – Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Lander, Lovell, Meeteetse, Powell, Riverton, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Thunder Basin, Worland, Wyoming Indian

Sydalee Brown from Campbell County won 3 events, the 100 & 200 meters, plus the triple jump. Her teammate Lauryn Love swept the throws.

Pine Bluffs girls won the 4x100 meter relay

Sidney Invitational in Sidney, NE; Field Events at 9 a.m. & Track Events at 11 a.m. – Burns, Cheyenne South, Laramie

Highlighted victories from Division 1:

Burns' Emma Gonzales won the 3200 meters.

Cheyenne South's Caydince Groth won the 100 meters & 300-meter hurdles, Lleyton Valdez won the 200 meters, and the Bison won the 4x100 meter relay.

Laramie's Addie Forry won the 800 meters, Taylor Gardner won the 100 hurdles & triple jump, Aidan Morris won the 110 hurdles & pole vault, and Mahlon Morris won the long jump & triple jump.

After two days and 30-odd inches of sow, southeast Wyoming was left buried. An in the grand tradition of every generation since the invention of the camera, we took pictures of the snow.

The Blizzard of March 2021 covered up our driveways, fences, and in some cases porches. It trapped up in our homes and canceled our plans.
