A new team at No. 1 and three new teams to the rankings highlight the new WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll.

There is one change in each of the four classifications in the latest rankings released on Wednesday from WyoPreps.

Thunder Basin, Douglas, and Moorcroft keep their spot at No. 1. Cokeville takes over the top position in Class 1A.

The Panthers and previous No. 1 Kaycee both received four first-place votes. It came down to a third-place vote that pushes Cokeville back to the spot they were in the preseason poll. The Buckaroos fall just one spot to second. Upton moves up to third, while H.E.M. debuts in the rankings at No. 4. Southeast falls two spots to fifth. Seven more teams received votes in the 1A girls’ poll.

Moorcroft earned six of the eight votes for No. 1 in Class 2A. The Wolves hold the top spot for the fourth straight set of rankings. Rocky Mountain, Tongue River, and Big Piney remain second, third, and fourth, respectively. Pine Bluffs rejoins the top five at No. 5.

In 3A, Douglas continues its reign at No. 1. The Bearcats are again a unanimous choice for the top position. Mountain View holds in second. Lander and Lyman both move up a spot to third and fourth, respectively. Torrington makes its debut in the poll at No. 5. The Trailblazers have received votes in each poll this season but finally break into the top five, as Worland falls out.

Thunder Basin receives all but one for No. 1 in Class 4A. The Bolts have been at the top of the rankings all season. Natrona County climbs back to No. 2, while Cheyenne East moves up to third. After an overtime loss last weekend, Cheyenne Central drops to fourth. Green River, who split their games with East and Central, holds at five.
