WYOPREPS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK WINNERS 2-20-25
Girls Winners
Elyn Bowers became only the fifth girls’ basketball player in state history to surpass 2,000 career points last week. She averaged 29 points per game in three wins for the top-ranked Pinedale Wranglers, who improved to 16-1 on the season. Bowers needed only 16 points to reach the milestone and got it on a 3-point field goal from the top of the key at Lander. She finished that game with 25 points. She added six steals, four assists, three rebounds, and one blocked shot. Bowers also leads Class 3A in assists per game this season.
WyoPreps spoke with the standout on Thursday. Bowers reflected on reaching 2,000 career points, explained how that was a goal for her coming into this season, how her role has changed throughout her prep career, how it was nice to reach the plateau on a 3-pointer, and more.
Elyse Kisner helped the fifth-ranked Rattlers to a pair of victories with an average of 26.5 points per game. She added five rebounds, five assists, and 2.5 steals per game. The sophomore matched her career-high of 29 points in a road win at North Park High School in Walden, CO. Kisner averages 18.1 points per game, which is second-best in Class 1A. She adds a team-high 3.7 assists per game, as well.
WyoPreps visited with Kisner about her performance. She felt the team played well in their first win and pulled out the second victory after a slow start. Kisner discussed what went well for her in the two games, what she loves about basketball, her singing prowess, and more.

Boys Winner
Kyle Smith led the Hulett Red Devils to two conference wins last week, securing the No. 2 seed for the upcoming 1A East Regional Tournament. Smith averaged 28 points, 6.5 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals per game.
The junior spoke with WyoPreps about his play last week, what he’s done to improve his game, how the team has improved after a slow start, what the Red Devils still need to focus on down the stretch, his recent 1,000-point milestone, and more.
