Our second football rankings of the season brought one new team into the fold, and four of the five classifications had movement. The latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll was released on Wednesday from WyoPreps.com.

The one team that made its debut was Rock Springs in Class 4A. Sheridan remains No. 1 with all but one first-place vote. Cheyenne East was second. Natrona County and Campbell County were tied for third. The Tigers moved into fifth.

In 3A, Riverton made the big move. The Wolverines moved up two spots to third after a big road win at Powell last Friday night. Star Valley was a unanimous pick for No. 1. Cody stayed second. Powell and Douglas followed Riverton.

Big Horn retained the top spot in 2A. The Rams got nine first-place votes. Mountain View’s impressive road win at Green River pushed the Buffalos into second. Lovell fell one place to third. Worland held onto fourth. Cokeville was alone in fifth.

Lingle-Ft. Laramie was again at No. 1 in Class 1A 9-man. The Doggers received 13 of the 16 first-place votes. Big Piney held second. Pine Bluffs and Rocky Mountain swapped spots. The Hornet moved to third, and the Grizzlies dropped to fourth. Southeast remained in fifth.

The only class that did not change was Class 1A 6-man. Burlington stayed on top with 13 of the 16 first-place votes. Little Snake River was second. Then, it was Riverside, Encampment, and Casper Christian.
