Indoor Track And Field: Simplot Games 2016

It's referred to as North America's Premier Indoor High School Track and Field Event.

The 38th Annual Simplot Games are scheduled to take place from February 18-20, 2016, at Holt Arena on the campus of Idaho State University, in Pocatello, Idaho.

Almost every Wyoming High School Indoor Track and Field team will be competing, as well as teams from Idaho, California, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, Nevada, Minnesota, Texas, Missouri and Alaska, along with representatives from Canada and Australia.

An estimated 2,000 athletes will be competing.

Wyoming Teams Participating: Gillette, Sheridan, Laramie, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South, Kelly Walsh, Natrona, Riverton, Rock Springs, Green River, Evanston, Worland, Cody, Star Valley, Jackson, Lovell, Big Horn, Tongue River, Big Piney

Boys:

Carter Mossey of Cheyenne Central finished 18th in the 60 meter dash.

Zach Ziegler and McCade Johnson of Laramie finished 15th and 16th in the 60 meter hurdles.

Joshua Hughes of Gillette finished 9th in the 200 meter dash.

Kevin Thompson of Natrona finished 21st in the 800 meter run.

Brody Smith of Cody finished 6th in the 1600 meter run.

Chris Henry of Laramie finished 6th in the 3200 meter run.

Gillette finished 5th in the 4x200 meter relay.

Gillette won the 4 x 400 meter relay. Laramie was 4th and Kelly Walsh was 5th.

Cheyenne Central finished 5th in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Rock Springs was 11th and Natrona was 12th (A Riverton team is listed as 4th, but it doesn't specify if it's Riverton, Wyoming, or Riverton, Utah).

William Nolan of Cheyenne South finished 12th in the long jump and 6th in the triple jump.

Nate Albers of Laramie and Trey Jennings of Kelly Walsh finished tied for 9th in the pole vault.

Logan Harris of Cheyenne Central placed 6th in the shot put. Cody Allen of Cheyenne South was 10th.

Isaac Huffman of Rock Springs placed finished 8th in the weight throw.

Eric Lundgren of Cheyenne Central finished tied for 10th in the High Jump.

Girls:

Lauren Taubert of Natrona finished 12th in the 60 meter hurdles.

Josie Givens of Green River finished 11th in the 800 meter run.

Sydney Wendt of Gillette finished 9th in the 1600 meter run.

Star Valley finished 9th in the 1600 Sprint Medley.

Natrona finished 4th in the 4x400 meter relay.

Molly Olsen of Natrona finished 8th in the 3200 meter run.

Gillette finished 11th in the 4x200 meter relay.

Cheyenne Central finished 6th in the 4x800 meter relay. Natrona finished 7th, Gillette 8th and Star Valley 14th.

Kaitlyn Barnes and Lauren Taubert of Natrona finished tied for 6th in high jump.

Devyn Williams of Rock Springs finished 9th in the weight throw.

Lily Joslyn of Cheyenne East finished 5th in the pole vault.
