In 4A from Friday night, Cheyenne Central and Natrona are both headed to the playoffs. Now it's just a matter of seeding and getting a chance for those all-important home playoff games.
Natrona made an opportunistic play on special teams as Nolan Valdez blocked a punt that went out of the end zone for a safety to make it 2-0. Ben Hoppens added a field goal to give the Mustangs a 5-0 lead
Central ended up taking the lead in the 1st quarter as Dawson McCleary found Andrew Johnson for 34 yards and a touchdown so the Indians up 7-5. In the 2nd quarter, Natrona's Harrison Taubert scampered into the end zone from 17 yards out for a TD, so the Mustangs assumed a 12-7 lead. But Andrew Johnson caught 2 touchdown passes in the 2nd quarter, from 4 and 16 yards out, so at the break, Central led 19-12.
in the 3rd quarter of play, McCleary tossed his 4th TD pass of the game, this one going to Carter Lobatos on a play that covered 25 yards to bump the Indian lead to 25-12. Each team found the end zone in the 4th quarter, McCleary with TD pass #5, going to Nathaniel Talich which covered 33 yards. Natrona answered back as Taubert threw an 18 yard TD pass to Koby Kelly. But Central improves to 5-3 beating NC 32-19. The Indians will host Cheyenne South on Friday. Natrona drops to 5-3 and they have a big home game on Friday vs. Rock Springs.
