Having been to the 'A' Northwest Regional Tournament in 4 of the last 6 years, including this year, the Wheatland Lobos are now guaranteed to be in next year's tournament as well.

Wyoming American Legion Baseball Commissioner Paul Eastridge has announced that Wheatland has been selected to host the 2013 'A' League Northwest Regional Tournament.

It is an 8-team modified double elimination tournament to be held in early August, the weekend after the Wyoming State Tournament, and features state champions from Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Utah, 2 teams from Montana, and the host team.

Since Wheatland is the host team, the Lobos are guaranteed to be in the tournament, regardless of how good or bad the 2013 season is for them.

This also means that a 2nd Wyoming team will be in the tournament.

If Wheatland ends up being the state champion, then the state runner-up gets invited to compete.

Eastridge says Washington was supposed to be the host in 2013, but they elected to pass on their turn.

The 2012 'A' League Northwest Regional Tournament begins on Friday, August 10th, in Burley, Idaho.

The Lobos are the Wyoming representative, and will play the host team, at 7pm in the first round.
