Defending 1A state champion Cokeville got off to a great start at the 1A Girls State track meet with 39.5 points on opening day. Encampment, Ten Sleep and Farson are tied for 2nd with 16. Cokeville got the ball rolling with a victory in the 3200 meter run thanks to Cienna Halls with a run of 12.25. Aden Scheer of Farson was 2nd and Lindsey Holiday of Ten Sleep placed 3rd. Ten Sleep roared back to win the 1600 medley with a clocking of 4.34.09.The Pioneer team had 2 Holiday girls, Lindsey and Kelli plus Elizabeth Lungren and Molly Charney. In the 1A girls high jump, Cokeville freshman Kylee Dayton cleared 5 feet even to take 1st. Sidney Olson of Burlington was 2nd and Jenna Dew of Saratoga was 3rd. Guernsey's Bailey Martin captured the shot put with a throw of 36-4.5. Encampment's Noelle Peterson was 2nd and Janae Teichert of Cokeville was 3rd.
