Cheyenne Central and Campbell County met on the hardwood in 4A action on Friday in Gillette and the Cheyenne Central girls continued their fine season with a 73-46 win over Campbell County. So far this season, Indian players Karson Tempel and Izzy Kelly have been averaging a combined 28 points a game. Central also beat Sheridan on that road trip to Gillette 49-44 so after the weekend's play, the Indians were 11-1.

Campbell County is now 5-5 but they have talent in seniors Kaylie Neary and Lauren Kuhbacher. Neary is a returning All-State player and is 4A's leading scorer averaging 21 points a game. Kuhbacker is averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds per game.

In the boys' game on Friday, Campbell County flexed its muscles with a resounding 81-50 victory over Cheyenne Central. The Camels certainly have enough ability to contend for a good seed at the 4A State Tournament with 4 guys averaging in double figures. Jack Andela and Sheridan High School transfer Truman Degrange are throwing 15 points a game each, all-star quarterback Mason Drube averages 13 a game, and returning All-Conference performer Luke Hladky is tossing a dozen points a contest. The Camels had a really good weekend with an 81-72 win over Cheyenne East on Saturday to move to 4-6 on the year.
