For the second straight week, there is not much change in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll.

There is one new team in Class 4A, and a couple of classes have schools that trade spots, but that is it.

The big-school division has a unanimous No. 1 in the Cheyenne East Thunderbirds. They received all 19 first-place votes. Cody and Thunder Basin remain second and third in this week’s poll. Natrona County moves back up to fourth. Campbell County makes its debut in the rankings at No. 5. The Camels started conference play 2-0 last weekend.

In 3A and 1A, you have two teams’ trade spots.

Douglas holds the top spot again in Class 3A. The Bearcats earned 17 of the 21 first-place votes. Lyman holds at No. 2. The change has Newcastle climbing one spot to third, which pushed Pinedale down to fourth. The Dogies also received a first-place vote. Despite two losses last week, both of which were to ranked opponents, Buffalo stayed fifth in the new poll.

Upton, Southeast, and Burlington remain one, two, and three in the 1A girls’ rankings. The Bobcats got eight of the ten first-place votes. The switch is at the bottom. Two road wins pushed Cokeville up to fourth, while Little Snake River fell to fifth.

Class 2A girls are the exact same as a week ago. Wyoming Indian stayed at the top with eight of the 12 first-place votes. Moorcroft and Rocky Mountain also received first-place votes, and they remain second and third. Glenrock and Tongue River round out the top five.
