Camels Stay Perfect, Strengthen Grip on No. 1 in Latest WyoPreps Softball Poll

The top three in the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll stayed the same as last week in the latest rankings of the 2026 season. Campbell County got all but one first-place vote, and the defending champion Camels widened their lead in the voting. The Camels earned 24 of the 25 ballots for the top spot. They’re off to a 10-0 start this season. That includes a 4-0 start in Northeast Conference play.

Cheyenne Central remained second in the new poll. The Indians were the only other team that got a first-place vote. Cheyenne East held in third. Thunder Basin moved back to fourth after a 3-1 start to league action. Rock Springs made their first appearance in the poll this season. The Tigers split road doubleheaders against Central and East in cross-quad games last weekend. That impressed enough voters, and Rock Springs grabbed the No. 5 spot.

Four other teams received votes in the new poll

The Northwest Quadrant is scheduled for its first conference action of the 2026 season. The Southwest was supposed to start this week, but Mother Nature forced a postponement of those games to later in the month.

Here were the top five in our third softball rankings. The complete voting breakdown is below.

All Class:

1 = Campbell County

2 = Central

3 = East

4 = Thunder Basin

5 = Rock Springs
