The State Track and Field Meet kicked off on Thursday in Casper with sunny skies and a bit of wind but all in all, not a bad day. There were more than a few records set on day #1 and in the 4A Girls Long Jump, Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East set the 4A and overall state record with a leap of 20-8.50. She broke the existing record twice on Thursday but that final effort of 20-8.50 was tremendous. Also in the long jump, Gavin Stafford of Big Horn set the 2A record by going 23-00.75. Lander's Adelyn Anderson set the 3A record in the shot put with a toss of 44-7.25
